We know you are here because you feel called to work with childbearing families in your community. At The Doula School we are honored that you are coming to us as partners in that important work.
The Doula School at Nurture recognizes that systems of oppression have blocked and denied access for many marginalized people to options in maternity care and support. Multiple factors contribute to these disparities, such as quality of healthcare, structural racism, and implicit bias. The Doula School at Nurture is committed to improving birth and postpartum for all people.
At The Doula School, we believe that to change these systems of oppression there must be an investment in professionals who are best positioned to provide culturally-relevant mentoring and support to those whose lives are unfairly jeopardized due to past and present inequities.
The Doula School offers partial scholarships for students who demonstrate sincere financial need, Military Members and Dependents, with preference given to those who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Disabled.
About Scholarships

What
Scholarships are awarded for partial registration fees for both CAPPA doula trainings and Advanced Educational opportunities unless expressly noted in the description and registration for a given course. Please read the details carefully. Scholarships do not cover the cost of books, materials, lodging, meals, or transportation.

Applying
Each training has a specific amount of scholarships available. Please apply as early as possible, by submitting the form below. Once received, we will email you a more detailed letter and application. We recommend that you apply not less than 8 weeks before the first day of the training, to be considered as an applicant. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

When
Applications are reviewed monthly. You will receive notice of the status of your application, either way, at least 2 weeks before the first day of the training.

Which
If awarded, your scholarship will be connected with an officially scheduled and running training or workshop. Please select a training that works with your schedule and your needs. Scholarships are not transferrable

Late
Late applications will still be accepted, however if awarded, your scholarship may be offered for a future training date if there are no funds remaining for the date requested on your application.

Where
Scholarships are possible thanks to the generosity of private donors to the Eleanor Sulzmann Doula Scholarship and also by discounts provided by individual instructors on their personal fees for their courses.
